UPDATE – March 1st, 2021. Waiter ECC is now 100% plug and play, no wiring changes required. Simply plug it in and it works.
Last year I was having some really strange problems with my furnace and A/C units. They seemed to have a mind of their own, starting when they were off, both blowers trying to run when they were off, etc. I contacted Intellitec and was told they are really old. They can look at them for possible repair, but couldn’t make any promises.
This seemed like an opportunity to create a new solution. I write control software for a living and its also one of my hobbies. I enjoy creating new hardware / software solutions for issues I run into on the motorhome. I put together a “proof of concept” to see if my idea would work. After running that system for several months, I started working on a nicer, more user friendly system. Other people expressed an interest so I decided to explore taking this project to hobby-business type venture, and Waiter’s ECC was born.
This project has evolved into a very nice controller that is a good retrofit to an existing Intellitec system.
